Thomas
The room at Hotel San Trano was cozy and charming, with a traditional Gallura-style balcony that made me feel like I was truly experiencing the local culture. As a business traveler, this added touch made my stay feel more authentic and memorable.
Personally, I found the breakfast options at the hotel a bit limited. But hey, everyone's tastes are different, so others might still enjoy it.

The location in the mountains of Gallura was beautiful as was the old village which had lots of character and very friendly locals. The hotel was lovely in terms of decor - done in Sardinian style, and it was clean and well maintained with pretty grounds and swimming pool from which there was a lovely view across the mountains. Hotel was in a quiet location with plenty of parking. This could have been a fantastic hotel. Staff are polite but become surly and unhelpful the minute they are asked to do anything "out of the ordinary".
The mattresses were exceptionally hard - I like a hard bed but this was the hardest bed I'd ever slept on. We consequently woke up with bad backs and broken sleep for most of the 2 week stay that we were there. The hotel said all the beds had new mattresses exactly the same as ours (presumably they must have bought a cheap job lot) so there was no point in moving us to another room. I asked if they could provide mattress toppers to which they said No, so I asked if they could provide extra blankets so that I could lay them on the bed to soften the mattress - again the answer was No, and that sleeping on blankets was not acceptable. Talking to other guests, they found their beds very hard too. Had we not prepaid we would have left.

Large, clean room with balcony. Large bathroom. The room has air conditioning but, even though we went there in August, we didn't need it, at night it's cool. Option to have breakfast on the terrace, with beautiful views of the mountains. There is an open air parking in the same place. Very friendly hotel staff, there was always someone at the reception. During the day you can leave the key in the accommodation so you don't lose it.
There is soap for the shower and hands but no moisturizer. The room service is every three nights, we stayed three nights, so if we wanted this service we had to pay separately. As for the location, it is in a village near the Costa Smeralda but quite badly connected. There are not many leisure options nearby.

The hotel's decoration is delightful, with lush greenery and beautiful flowers that perfectly complement the charming architecture. It creates a serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for senior people. The general areas are well-maintained and easily accessible, providing a comfortable experience for those with mobility concerns.
I would have appreciated more assistance from the staff during my stay. The children working there seemed uninterested and lacked professionalism.

it has a swimingpool, not large but when you are in the middle of nowhere is good to have it. Terrace for breakfast was nice if you do not mind regular fog in the morning.
Do not recommend this hotel. Very rude, aggressive and unfriendly owners/staff. Locaton-it is far from evrything, in the mountains, becouse of curvy roads it tooks us 2 h to the beaches. No air condition, no frige. TV was that old thet it only had 2 colours. Did not change our towels regularry even folded back our dirty ones! And for breakfast they served old boild egs.Dining in hotel was also very expensive. We have paid our room 96 euros/night, it was higly overprized, you schould not pay more than 50 euros for this hotel.

Staff were quite friendly and the Hotel was in a non tourist area, so you got the experience of real Sardinia
Hotel was very poorly equipped. They advertised horse riding, table tennis etc on their website and they had non of those activities available. The pool was tiny and the Hotel was very basic and just abou bearable to stay in. Hotel looked nothing like the pictures and had paint flaking off on the building

There were very few guests during our stay and we had the hotel almost to ourselves. Private pool area, proximity to archiological sites and cleanliness are positive aspects.
The fact that the hotel ristorante was not opened due to lack of people

This hotel is a hidden gem nestled in the mountains, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery. The spacious and clean rooms are equipped with all the basic amenities you need, including air conditioning and satellite TV. The staff here are incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going the extra mile to ensure a comfortable stay. And let's not forget the delicious Italian breakfast, full of local flavors and freshly made pastries. The value for money is exceptional, making it a great choice for those looking to explore the beautiful north-eastern part of the island.
No negative aspects to mention, everything was just perfect!

Super central location in a cute little town. AC in room and a nice bar and pool. Front lady spoke multiple languages and was very helpful. Breakfast was mind-blowingly good.

Had a wonderful Easter retreat with my significant other at this hotel. the great food and delicious breakfast were the best aspects! the staff was very hospitable and warm, making us feel at home. We were blown away by the breathtaking views and amazing location close to the beaches and small village. Another advantage of this hotel was the friendly hotel dog who brought a smile to our faces every time we saw him.
We were disappointed with the beds. They were so hard that it was difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Amazing value for money! Great location, with easy access to transportation and breathtaking views. The staff was super helpful and friendly, providing excellent service. The rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable bedding. The breakfast was one of the best aspects, with a variety of delicious options to choose from and plenty of coffee.
The only negative aspect was the lack of some basic amenities in the room, such as a safe and a fridge. , the Wi-Fi connection was poor and didn't work properly during my stay.
